Dave came over a few hours ago. He looked pretty shaken up.
"It's really messed up outside man. The cops are all over the place looking at people."
"Looking at people? like how?"
"Sorry, i mean like, if you're walking funny or look bad, they'll push you aside, put guns on you and make you strip! I stopped to look, but I got pushed away and they told me to "move along". pigs."
This sounded scary to me.
"Dave" I asked, "Did you hear anything else?"
"Actually, yes. They said they were looking for bites."
My mind froze, I thought of Beth at the office and the boss and of Charlie.
"Dave, I don't think this is rabies like they've been saying on the news."
"Neither do I man."
We spent awhile watching the news. Only the local news had any kind of coverage going on here. They mentioned things like showing caution around people you know if they show generic symptoms, stay indoors especially at night, cooperate with police, blah blah.
nothing about what was happening.
before we knew it, it was night, and there were a ton of cop cars, marked and unmarked driving around with their search lights on.
I told Dave to stay over for the night.
i'll keep you guys posted
